Why the footage isn’t released yet.
I keep seeing posts from people asking why the FBI release “all the evidence but the footage of him dropping the bag”. The probable reason why it hasn’t been released is the fact that the footage is emotionally and morally distressing. This is because of the fact that you can probably see some people get seriously injured and maybe even die in this video, as the surveillance camera is focused on the location where the blast happened. Unlike most other footage of the explosions.
Ofcourse, it’s possible for them to release only the part where he supposedly put his bag down, but like freedzhokhar explained: Two kinds of groups will emerge. One that will question if it was actually his bag that exploded, as the footage explosion itself would not be released, which would make them need to release the full footage anyways. And the other group would assume that it actually was him and would riot.
There is also the possibility that the release of this footage would decrease or even cut out the chances of a fair trial. And that’s not what we want to happen, right?
We’ll just have to wait until May 30th to see what happens.
